Every Sarit Centre tenant to be assessed after fire break out

Sarit Centre will remain shut until further notice following a fire breakout on Friday, the mall has said in its latest update.

As at noon on Saturday, relevant government authorities inspected the mall amidst clean up operations and declared it structurally sound.

The mall was officially closed last evening to pave way for investigations and assessment of the damage caused.

On completion of the investigations, the mall noted that it will only allow tenants to access the building in an organised fashion to be released in due course as they asses their respective outlets. 

“Currently investigators from all government departments concerned are on site conducting their investigations and they will release their findings in due course,” the mall said in its official Facebook page.

Further, When granted access, Sarit has urged its tenants to bring torches with them as their is currently a power blackout in the building.

 

On Friday, Witnesses said told the press that the fire was started by a faulty photocopying machine on the ground floor.
