The Banker Who Writes Unveils His 7th Book

Popularly known as ‘The Banker who writes’, Kinyanjui Kombani has officially released his 7 th book – Imani and the Missing Mace


The book, a children’s adventure story, revolves around a young girl, Imani and friends, Marcus, Marvin and Stacey. An innocent visit to Imani’s father’s workplace in Parliament turns into an investigation as the Speaker’s mace goes missing – and the main suspect is Imani’s father.

Determined to prove her father’s innocence, Imani and her friends decide to find out who stole the mace. The teenagers soon find themselves in danger when they discover that not everyone wants the missing mace found.

The award winning writer, banker and business strategist has previously published 6 novels and children’s books, and collaborated in 7 publications. His books have been study texts in schools in Rwanda, and in universities in Kenya and Germany. He was named as one of 50 top writers in Kenya by the Daily Nation.

For his contribution to creative writing in the country, he has received various awards including Top 40 Under 40 recognition 2015, Kenyatta University Outstanding Alumni Award (2014) and Standard Chartered Top 5 Under 35 Award (2014).

He is involved in literary activities in the country and has recently been at the forefront of fighting piracy.
